OPTIMAL TENSILE-SHEAR STRENGTH OF GALVANIZED/MILD STEEL (SPCC-SD) DISSIMILAR RESISTANCE SPOT WELDING USING TAGUCHI DOE

This paper demonstrates the optimization of resistance spot welding on different connections galvanized steel sheets and low carbon steels. The zinc coating will have an effect to reduce ability in process. practical Taguchi experimental technics were used by implemented adequately optimize input factors, namely squeezing time, current, time holding time. Statistical software analysis variance (ANOVA) multilinear regression investigate evaluate significant factors compare them with output welding. 'signal noise ratio' (S/N ratio) results shows that current are most output. delta values ​​of 3.15 2.25, respectively. ANOVA showed contributing 23.5% 51.4%, recommends optimal 20 cycles, a 27 kA, 36 hold/cooling 15 cycles. highest reaches tensile shear strength 5762.04 N third iteration. present research has successfully identified variable inputs for welding, In future, relevant may use our corresponding improve RSW procedure other impacts.
